First off, their customer support has a very poor understanding of their systems, there are many security flaws and on their website they advertise $27.99 a month but then sent a flier that charges $36.99 I had a break in as a result of all of these security flaws and having to deal with their customer service. Watch out if you pay ADT alarm annually by automatic credit card withdrawal. Billing was due in February, 2015, but ADT attempted to charge account during August, 2014. They would have had SIX MONTHS of unearned revenue. They did not catch issue - I did. Billing bounced back due to new credit card number from Target issues, otherwise possibly would have gone unnoticed. Could not solve issue... Read more

In the early morning hours oh Nov.30 2014 I awoke to my home in flames. I was able to save only myself & my pets. I had ADT fire & break in monitoring for over 8 years at that time. I was alerted by a $10 First Alert detector in my bedroom. I contacted 911 on my cell phone after escaping. At NO time did my ADT alarm activate, nor call in an alarm. There is an issue with one of the sensors. I called ADT to book at appointment to have a "service technician" come and replace the sensor. I was told by dispatched that no one was available until Friday August 22, 2014, today is Monday August 18th, 2014. One of the system’s door sensors failed, rendering the system in-operable. I contacted their central office requesting repair and a quote to a more up to date system as the one in place was nearly 20 years old. After years of poor service (e.g. panic code entered from my address, after which ADT called to verify if there was any problem...3 HOURS LATER!) I cancelled the service in February 2014. We installed our system 9 years ago and pay a monthly monitoring and service charge of $35. Part of this service is supposed to be changing and monitoring the batteries. ADT salesman came to my door yesterday and asked if I had an alarm system. I referred him to the no solicitor sign next to my doorbell.
